Growing up in an Italian family from New Jersey, food was always at the forefront of our social gatherings, filling our hearts and bellies with love, warmth and weight. Our Sunday dinners were like Christmas dinner every week! There was always a first course, second course and dessert. Food was the underpinning of everything we did on Sundays, holidays and family get togethers.

Almost everyone in my family was always on a diet, trying to lose weight from all the pasta, cannoli’s, tiramisu and other Italian delicacies we ate regularly.

But Here’s The Thing, Diets Don’t Work.

I saw the suffering this inflicted upon family members and others trying to lose weight and keep it off. Many of them had high blood pressure, diabetes and depression from being overweight, and the worst part was I lost 3 of my closest family members to complications from these diseases. I made it my mission to help my family and others lose weight and keep it off but not by dieting.

During my many years of experience in psychotherapy and personal coaching, I’ve helped empower countless men and women to transform their lives for the better. But I also noticed a trend where food was involved, with many of my client’s being overweight and unhappy. They would emotionally eat to self-soothe when they were sad, anxious, lonely or to relieve stress.

Ditch The Diet (DTD) Is About Obtaining Your Optimum Body Weight Without Dieting

It’s a simple program that will help you to nourish your body and release your struggle around food. You’ll become aware of your thoughts, feelings and beliefs so you can change your relationship with food. We also will look at the self-talk that accompanies eating and dieting and the food choices that are made. One of the goals is to become acquainted again with the natural physiological responses of the body that govern eating regulation.
